The Fort Bend Arts Festival is a much loved community event that applauds the young writers and artists living in Fort Bend County Precinct 3.

OUR HISTORY

The Fort Bend Arts Festival began 6 years ago and has grown into a much loved annual community event attended by over 5000 Katy area residents. The event was started as an outreach to support & celebrate the literary and artistic talents of children living in Fort Bend County Precinct 3.

Commissioner Andy Meyers noticed that while academic achievements and sports are widely celebrated in our area, students and teachers who participate in the literary & fine arts are often overlooked. Together with local partners, Fort Bend County Libraries & All About Katy, the Fort Bend Arts Festival was created as a way to support & partner with our Fort Bend County precinct 3 schools in Katy ISD, Fort Bend ISD, and Lamar Consolidated ISD.

In 2018, over 5000 Fort Bend County residents attended the Fort Bend Arts Festival. Families from Katy, West Houston, Richmond, and Fulshear enjoyed a public exhibition of over 300 visual art and essay pieces created by local Fort Bend County Precinct 3 students from Katy ISD, Lamar CISD & Fort Bend ISD as part of the annual Fort Bend Arts Fest Literary & Fine Arts competition! Participating teachers were also recognized and awarded a variety of prizes, including an iPad Pro, a Yeti Hopper and more than $1,700 in gift cards.

Along with the culmination of the Literary and Fine Arts Competition, the Fort Bend Arts Festival also boasts a Storybook Character Parade for kids of all ages, over 100 kid-friendly vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, a helicopter fly-over by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, laser tag, a gaming truck, free caricatures and more! We hope you will join us Saturday, April 27, 2019 for the 6th Annual Fort Bend Arts Festival!
